On Thursday 3rd November 2011, 15 students participated in three performances throughout the day. They were based on the H.F Bailey Lifeboat in the Henry Blogg Museum, telling the story of the rescue of the English Trader. One of the performances was to Cromer Junior School, and the others were performed to the local community including family members of the crew aboard the H.F Bailey.
The H.F Bailey is an 80 year old boat captained by Mr Henry Blogg, which was used to rescue many people stranded in the sea. On one of their voyag-es the first lifeboat man died in action, Mr Edward Walter Allen. It was this voyage that the students re-enacted. The rescue of the English Trader took two days. On the first day the crew of the H.F Bailey had tried many times to save them however, because of the strong waves five men were thrown overboard.
